It is good or not?

Sometimes you just happen to get double elbows I guess. As for replacing the letters, it's your jersey - it's totally up to you.

The TBTC is based on the 1929 to 1941 style of jersey. The Rangers never had another jersey until 1951 when the NHL mandated a road uniform... hence the white one.

I've not really done much research into jersey makers for the Rangers pre-CCM, so hopefully someone else here will be able to help out.

Yeah. I may just leave it all alone. Then again, may put a number on it or whatever, like the game-used Giacomin jersey I saw online. I'm hoping some real old-school Rangers fans can at least point me in a direction to find out exactly what era it's from.

Next question: Being a replica, was it actually made in the era it looks like, or was this released later on as a vintage-style jersey?

Somebody slapped a fight strap on a replica jersey and sells the jersey as authentic? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chicago-Blackhawks-Bob-Probert-Authentic-Jersey-/140893652088?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item20cdea8478

Does this look legit?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/AUTHENTIC-ST-LOUIS-BLUES-CCM-JERSEY-SIZE-54-/121029739472

I recall some were saying there was a lot of these up on Ebay and they were faked, my buddy bought it and it looks good to me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey it sells. As long as you know what you're buying then who cares what the other person does to the jersey. Now to the new collectors (Is it good or not) is the best place to come and fill your head with a lot of great knowledge. Ask questions it will save you a lot of money... Back to Block Ops 2 Zombies I go. Anyone wants to play XBOX 360 GT: HalfDeadPicasso Chris you wanna play some Zombies

I believe that's the problem... It doesn't matter that "it sells." The seller is altering jerseys to sell them as something they are not.

Sure, if people are buying them knowing they're just replicas, and not authentics, then yes "who cares." But that is not often the case, and they're being advertised as "authentic."

I don't know much about these Pens jerseys, the seller's other auction makes me think this one isn't real though.

I don't know older jerseys that well but that one looks ok to me

Thanks! I actually looked at his other auction a lot closer and it looks like the real deal too...not sure why I didn't think it wasn't good before. Probably have seen so many fake Oilers I just instantly think it's another fake.

Yes, the Oilers one is good too. I'm pretty sure they also wore mesh versions that year, but switched to airknit later in the 89/90 season.

Edit: I should add that the neck tags and fight strap on the Oilers jersey aren't consistent with the 89/90 model; this one was most likely made around 1991 or 92.

It's '92-93 and newer.

The '89-92 jerseys had a different logo with a fatter, flat top oil drop -

'92 and up featured a thinner version with a point at the top, similar to the one that just sold on ebay.

A lot of guys grab '92 and up Air-Knit Oilers and slap on '90 cup patches, and no one notices.

Excellent point, although I still think it's possible the eBay jersey could have been made as early as 1991. Here are a couple of gamers from 1991 that have the new crest:

http://www.gamewornauctions.net/products/1991_92_Scott_Mellanby_Oilers_Game_Worn_Jersey-1735-53.html

http://www.classicauctions.net/Default.aspx?tabid=263&auctionid=51&lotid=554

Also, the Maska neck tags (like the one on the eBay jersey) started being replaced after 1992-93, and many teams used the newer CCM tags as early as 1993:

http://www.classicauctions.net/Default.aspx?tabid=263&auctionid=65&lotid=346

http://www.classicauctions.net/Default.aspx?tabid=263&auctionid=61&lotid=14

So although the Oilers still used some Maska-tagged jerseys after 1993 (they may possibly have been leftovers), I don't know for sure that they were actually being manufactured that way after 1993.

I did they same thing. They wore airknit in the finals. But it seems hard to find the right jersey that has the CCM logo in the hem completely white.

WC Malkin Jersey

Went to check the Population report from MeiGray and the number E05768 belongs to Alan Nasreddine. Ad says the jersey is a size 50, but Malkin wears a 56. Can't contact the seller either.

Alan has had his tag in the back of countless fake jerseys.

Poor Nas. EVERY 2009 Pens WC was apparently worn by him!

Should have known it was fake from the price, the crest, and the fight strap ... no need to even check the Population report.
