DropkickMurphy8
Agreed, definitely going to ask for more pics. That IS a 2002 Olympic jersey though, yes? Looks okay to me. At least based on the photo he provided. Might want to ask him for more just to be safe. No clue why the seller has the jersey up against a dark background. Hard on the eyes! DropkickMurphy8
Edit - Nevermind, guy got the jersey confused with another listing. Sent me pics, it's legit.
MountainKing
Something is still up with that auction....I bid pretty high on it...but the other day it was listed as a size 52.

MountainKing
Yup..Saturday when I tossed in my bid it was a 52...today it's a 48. I emailed him asking what's up.
HawksFan719
definitely fishy, especially with the stolen photo. I'd steer clear, that one could very well be a fake with 2 stolen photos, its happened before and fake Roenick CCM ultrafils have been on the bay before. INTENSE Mighty Ducks Fan
http://cgi.ebay.com/Mighty-Ducks-Alternate-Paul-Kariya-Authentic-Jersey-XL-/110635516937?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item19c2640409 I know this guy probably means "authentic" as in actually liscensed and not a knock off. For what it is, the jersey looks really good (not so hot on the price or player though). But I'm wondering, if there are any Mighty Ducks specialists out there, about the bottom of the jersey. From my memory, and from all the pics I've seen of the green alternate, there was a silver stripe. Did Starter just forget this stripe, or was the jersey actually stripeless for one of the 3 (?) seasons they wore it? The only support of non-sripes I've found was Wikipedia's Ducks page, and that doesn't exactly count for anything.

Thats a replica jersey. Also they never wore Starter and with that jersey they only wore Nike and Proplayer. Not to mention that is way over priced
JimmyGagner
It did indeed have a silver hem stripe shown here: ducks alternate game worn His price for a replica is waaaaay to high IMO. Starter and CCM both released replica versions of the Ducks and Sharks with minor variations from the final versions that Nike, the official supplier did. This was due to the incorrect style sheets being sent out prior to Nike making final designs changes. I've seen some CCM Sharks jerseys with extra white piping that was ditched at the last minute. nogoal99
Edit: Both the guys above were all over this. Its a starter replica. Personally I think thats a high price tag for that item. Starter replicas are notorious for not being exactly correct. My sabres starter for example has a baby blue crest and the buffalo's eye is yellow. The same story here, they didn't put the silver stripe on the hem. If you ever have questions about sweater design or patches from specific years use this site, its a good resource. http://www.nhluniforms.com/Ducks/Ducks05.html

INTENSE Mighty Ducks Fan
Thanks everyone. And I kinda made a typo on my original message, sorry about that. I knew the price was a bit much, especially since it's inaccurate. No wonder it's been "sitting in his shop for years." I'd probably buy it for an eight of that price, to play in and beat up. Just wondering for the record if I ever saw a decent priced Starter one. That Hockey Uniform Database is amazing btw. DropkickMurphy8
Stay away from that seller. He's the guy my friend bought his Richter Liberty jersey from. He lists all of his auctions as "authentic" and "sewn to the jersey", and the Richter was heat pressed and had terrible customization. Guy also has a 7 day return policy that he refuses to honor when you want to send something back because it's not as described. http://cgi.ebay.com/Mighty-Ducks-Alternate-Paul-Kariya-Authentic-Jersey-XL-/110635516937?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item19c2640409 I know this guy probably means "authentic" as in actually liscensed and not a knock off. fireparamed
Check out this "Authentic" The seller is "confident in the quality of the product". Thanks to all your help I can see about 5 things wrong with this item. And for once the seller was nice enough to show enough detail to prove for us it is a fake!!! Have a good one guys. Its little things like that, that make it seem weird. I see the seller has multiple sizes available which seems like they may not be as real as he/she describes. Hopefully one of the members on this board knows something about the ncaa jerseys. Im not sure if the authentics come with fight straps. guam64
It's definitely not authentic swift material, it looks exactly like the replica that I have.
F-liars
Yeah, these look like replicas that were tagged with number sizes. The authentic Swift jerseys would be white on the inside and tagless with the size number imprinted. These replicas are black on the inside with the size label sewn on. The head logo is much smaller than the Swift version. Authentics would have fight straps. Game-worn Swift: As for the size 52 label, the seller just took one photo and used it for all their sizes of the same design. Common practice. They also have jerseys of Michigan, Minnesota, Maine and Team Canada. One Canada jersey sold for $45, so you can probably make an offer in the $40's range. Great man thanks for the help, so its just a replica then? The size reference doesnt mean anything special in this case?
F-liars
Great man thanks for the help, so its just a replica then? The size reference doesn't mean anything special in this case? Yeah, I think you have to assume it's a replica. Nike also did number sizes with pre-customized 1998 Olympic replica jerseys. I don't know why they do this; it just confuses us collectors. EPS happens to be the official customizer for the Sioux. I was quoted $55 for this design.
Bears1000
Hey guys! I was wondering if this jersey is real. I think it's real, but I'm not 100% sure. Any help would be great!
