Found this Mitchell Gamer on Kijiji. I'm looking into it for a friend. I have no doubt of its authenticity as being an authentic 2.0, but any way of guaranteeing that it's actually a Gamer and not just a Team Issue with a MeiGray patch sewn on?

Here's the pics he sent.

Edit: Just got this picture of the MeiGray COA. We're good to go, unless I'm not seeing something?

The MeiGray letter should seal the deal. They will usually state in writing whether or not the jersey was worn or not. That says it's a set 3 game-worn jersey so you're fine.

Set 3 was worn for 7 regular season games and 5 playoff games.

This seller claims to have a red Blackhawks game used Doug Wilson jersey. From the photos on the listing you can see that it has the assistant captains A and the tagging is the three individual CCM blocks with the NHL shield. This tagging was used beginning in the second half of the 1989-1990 season. In the 1990-1991 season the Blackhawks wore the All Star Game at Chicago Stadium patch, this jersey show no signs of patch removal.

I have attached a photo from the 1989-1990 season where he is wearing the A and a hockey card photo of Wilson from the 1990-1991 season where you can see the All Star Game patch, and no A (Larmer and Chelios wore the A that season)

All this proves that the jersey, if legit, was from the second half of 1989-1990.

The problem is photos in the listing clearly show the name is sewn onto the jersey and not a nameplate. All the game worn Hawks I have seen from that time have nameplates. Doesnt this prove he just has a beat up authentic and not a game worn, or were nameplates not as standard as I think?

The lack of nameplate does look kinda suspicious. This gamer may possibly be from early 1989-90 (with the smaller CCM logo), and it does have a nameplate:

No opinions on this? It is fake, right?

No clue about the auto but the jersey is definitely a horrible fake

its a real sig on a fake jersey.

People buy jersey numbers with sigs on them, put them on fake jerseys and askbig bucks.

IMO sig's ruin the value of jerseys.

I don't see much actual game wear - stick marks, etc. My guess is it is simply an old customized authentic. Which still might be a nice jersey to get depending on ow high his reserve is...

Check out this page with Blackhawks gameworn jerseys: http://home.comcast.net/~sulli26/byyear.htm

Here's a jersey from 90-91, which is the only jersey that matches the Indian crest on the front: http://home.comcast.net/~sulli26/manson.htm

As you can see, the Mason jersey has a nameplate, the Wilson jersey is without a nameplate and the font is different, so it's definitely not a real gameworn jersey.

Been looking for a 1.0 for a while now, but I can't make heads or tales of this one. Also, do you think 140 is too much for a 1.0 to begin with?

It has the 7187 style tag, I haven't seen any bootlegs that have those yet. Looks good to me. Don't know about price, but I probably wouldn't pay that much for a blank.

This guy looks like quite the mixed bag. Two of the jerseys I've seen (Boruque and Sakic) look like pathetic knockoffs, but then I see a few and they look legit, like the King and Kariya jerseys (only the Kariya jersey has an authentic-looking fight strap).

He IS selling a couple fake jerseys, the Bourque is definitely fake. The Sakic is a licensed replica with horribly incorrect customization, and I'm pretty sure the Kariya is wrong also, but it's definitely a legit jersey.

Thanks guys for reaffirming my suspicions. I wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy assuming it was a fake. Yeah, I'm guessing even if it were a legit jersey, the signature wouldn't add to the value. Signed jerseys that are worth anything are probably few and far between given the player, condition, age, rarity, etc..

I believe Federov became alternate captain starting in the 1994-95 season. The Wings' last 2 seasons in that style of CCM jersey were 1994-95 and 1995-96, so I would think this jersey must be from one of those 2 seasons.
