The Russian Rocket
I don't think that is true. I'm pretty sure that the 40th anniversary jerseys at the Canucks team store have the patch. Shenanigans and I both own team issued Edge 2.0 40ths and these were never made available to the general public. You may be getting confused with the retail replicas which they did sell. JackFr
My cousin wanted me to check whether this was real or fake. I couldn't tell. If it is fake then the counterfeiters are getting much better (in a bad way). The numbers are sewn on and glacier-twilled, and that's usually my go-to for checking if they're real. The material is also very accurate-feeling, but something seems a bit off.
Shenanigans
Fake. Vector logo is still wrong. Way too thick of a border. In addition, the fight strap is not correct, specifically in it's attachment to the jersey.

It's sold already, but it seemed OK to me, except for the wave in the nameplate. Customization seemed accurate for that season (1989-90) as well. JackFr, did your cousin get the Talbot from this seller on ebay? http://cgi.ebay.com/TYLER-KENNEDY-AUTOGRAPHED-PITTSBURGH-PENGUINS-JERSEY-/370527684449?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item56452bc761 (I understand the fake jersey is a Kennedy.) This seller/company gets players to sign on counterfeit jerseys.
slimcutta
http://cgi.ebay.com/...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT i feel like something wrong with this. It was good. 6ang sells some really nice stuff sometimes, and at a great price too. Just check out this Kariya ducks he sold for $65. http://cgi.ebay.com/AUTHENTIC-CCM-Paul-Kariya-Mighty-Ducks-Hockey-Jersey-52-/220819485209?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item3369ddf219 Granted it has a few marks, but nothing that wouldn't come out in the wash. And compare with the exact same jersey that Jerseys4thewin just sold for $264 http://cgi.ebay.ca/Authentic-Paul-Kariya-Mighty-Ducks-Center-Ice-Jersey-54-/330585931834?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item4cf875003a Madness, i tell you...MADNESS!!! amonte78
My link Can't quite tell...I'll leave it to the Edge gurus. Like I said earlier, I also bought an auto'd Pens jersey (Asham). So after asking how much the shipping costs to my country were (Netherlands), I got a reply that they don't ship to The Netherlands, although the auction details said worldwide shipping Oh well.. Kariya was favorite player as a kid before he bailed on us. Woulda loved to have that. slimcutta
Isnt the robitaille missing the NHL logo According to nhluniforms.com, this ccm patch was never alone on the jersey. I cannot stress this enough - nhluniforms (an amazing site, btw) is not 100% accurate, and in many cases DOES NOT show the differences throughout specific seasons. There are a lot of things they miss and/or don't point out. In 89-90, most teams had the small block ccm logo to start, the newer seperated bigger blog ccm logo part way through (some earlier, somer later), and they added the NHL logo by the end. BUT, many teams recycled jerseys, and many older jerseys carried over (a lot were used in pre-season up to '93ish). Hence why you'll see some older/smaller block ccm logos with the NHL shield added after the fact. I've seen Toronto, Buffalo, and Edmonton jerseys with 'em, and I recently saw my first Islanders with one (pic's on my home pc, I'll update this post later with a shot of it). As a reference point, it's the same thing when using the 'jersey project' at gameworn.net. http://www.gameworn.net/project.html It's a fabulous ressource, but there are many innacuracies, as well as omissions. Do not believe everything you read. I'm going to do a giant write-up on the 80s specifically for every team soon (stay tuned), but quick rule of thumb - Starting in 83-84 when most teams switched to CCM, older Sandow SKs that were recycled had giant CCM logos screen printed on the rear hem The new ccm jerseys had ccm patches embroidered on the rear hem, some large (like the Neely on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item4aacdda243), but most were small and featured either an * or a trademark R beside it By the end of the 84-85 season, the logos were being embroidered on the hem, some still featuring the * From 84-85 to 88-89, the logos stayed the same format, but many changed colors to accomodate team colours, either solid (eg red red red, white white white, blue blue blue, etc) or multiple (red red green, orange orange black, gold gold purple, etc) In 89-90, as noted above, they went to the newer style, and by the end of the year, added the NHL logo. Much like the pro-player jerseys out there, the large/seperated block CCMs WITHOUT THE NHL LOGO are a single year jersey ONLY, and really only a half year jersey if you want to get technical. A great reference point with tons of fabulous pics and details, even though it's only Caps jerseys, is http://capsjerseys.com/ Scour the site and check out all the differences throughout the years. **Note - even that site fails to mention or show the large CCM logo on the rear hem that some of them had, like this guy here - **EDIT** I suppose I could have saved this giant rant, and simply linked you to the tags and tails guide that Mike did up - http://forums.icejerseys.com/index.php?showtopic=2610 Gotta love bibles

chadarini
I appreciate the rant. i love to hear extensive knowledge on things. NHLuniforms is only a scratch on the surface on the wackiness of hockey jersey. So any time you wanna knowledge drop, I'm all ears. I did try to go getty to see the types they wore that year but i didn't have much luck. That was a gamble gone right buying it AND also thanks slim for posting that flyers gamer, got it for 100! Big A HG
I don't know about anyone else, but: a.) I hate the Canucks as much as any other NHL team. b.) I still think their 40th Anniversary jersey is in my top 2 for favorite NHL jerseys worn last season. It's so classic, with a modern touch. Very timeless. Brilliant!
As long as your #1 jersey worn last year is the Kings 40th anny ones then I will absolutely agree with you. On both A AND B!

On both A AND B! HA! You mean that ugly Royal purple and gold monstrosity?!? That thing should of stayed back in 70's and 80's with Disco music and Cindy Lauper! The Canucks one is far more classy. Royal purple be damned!

Yeah, that Flyers gamer was a great pickup, especially considering it came with an LOA. Glad to see someone got it who'll appreciate it I always like to post great deals when I find 'em for you guys...but it's really the ones that I don't post on here that you should see... ...now those, those'll be added to my personal collection for all to envy, MWA-HA-HA-HA!!! akteon
Enlisting the help of the hockey jersey gods for this one.... My Link The jersey itself is legit from what I can see. The SC patch is a reproduction and it looks like the nameplate may be twill instead of airknit. Can't tell if they used glacier twill either.
