xcdude
The more I think about the more I hope a sniping service wasn't used. If you won it the old fashioned why, congrats you got a good jersey. Yeah the highest bidder gets the jersey, but it seriously takes the game out of tryig to win because techincally you lost the jersey before you even bid unless you bid an outragous amount. Still if your using a sniping service, you have a very low chance of losing the auction. I don't know, this is the first one I lost and isuspect that a sniper was used. It's crappy feeling. Meh. I've won bids by bidding with 3 seconds to go. Just have to get lucky.
Sluggermatt15
I know fake M&N's have been made, but I am not sure about fake NHL M&N jerseys. Do you guys think these two M&N's are legit? I snipe all the auctions I participate in and still have yet to win a auction on Ebay. Even though I use the snipper it doesn't really help because my bids are never high enough. It's tough getting used to the feeling of having the auction won and then losing in the last second but after a while you get used to it and come to except action in the last seconds of a auction. Case in point I lost out on an early 90's Leafs authentic by $1 even though I used the snipper to bid with 3 seconds left.

The guy who tried to sell it before on ebay was trying to get 1000 bucks for it saying it was signed by Vladdy. After I contacted ebay and said it was highly unlikely that he signed a Koho jersey(thanks to help from fellow board members here) they pulled the auction. He tried to contact me privately to make a deal, but obviously I didn't take it. Wonder if this is the same guy or a buddy.

I just saw the jersey listed on Craigslist in the Detroit area for sale section. He could have signed it, just not when he claimed he did, that was the factually and physically impossible part of the deal.

Brilliant!
Ooh, nice Wings jersey. Did you get it? If so, that's a great price. I'm not crazy about that custom job but it's definitely fixable. That jersey needs an NHL 75th, Cup Centennial or 1995 Finals patch on there....and yes I know that Fedorov didn't wear the A in '92 or '93. HawksFan719
I just threw down a bid not expecting to win it. the jersey is legit, the customization is sort of weird although I'm not 100% sure where. I don't plan on keeping it, probably just flip it.

The problem with trying to fix jerseys like that is the stitching. For some reason I have seen a lot of Wings jerseys from that era with that thick stitching (they must have used miles of thread just for one number). I can imagine it would be a pain to strip and could probably damage the jersey.

Brilliant!
That's a 1997-98 jersey too. It has the larger S-star logo on the hem. Those are tougher to find than the 1996-97 version.
Curry1fan
My biggest pet peeve about Ebay lately is how early in auctions people bid and thus run up the price of something that shouldn't be run up. I am eyeing an auction right now that started last night and is ending Monday. The jersey, which is a blank jersey with ONE autograph (it was not game worn, game issued or anything like that either) started at $24.99 and is already $49.00. What exactly is the purpose of doing that? To me all it does is create a bidding war over the course of the auction and the item ends up going for way more than it should. I used to bid early on Ebay too but stopped after I lost a huge bidding war. The person overpaid for the item anyway I feel. Thoughts?
JustAnothaVictim
Well, that's how ebay works, some seller bid on their own stuff, some just don't know when the best timing for a bid is and some of them are just newbies. I guess, we're forced to accept this.
guam64
That's why people snipe.
Sluggermatt15
I agree, it's stupid when items go WAY HIGHER than they should. People are so stupid, especially on ebay. But hey, at least it's somewhat good for the economy.
Curry1fan
Well I really want the jersey at this point b/c it's a WBS Pens Christmas jersey and I do not have a holiday jersey in my collection yet. I definitely get jealous when I see so many people at the games with them. So I think I'm gonna pull out my sniping tricks come the end of the auction...and then overpay in the process. But you've gotta do what you gotta do!
