They ruined a prefectly good jersey  is there inn way you can get the letters and name off of it?

If it is on a nameplate, then the name isn't likely gonna be a problem. If not on a nameplate, then you just gotta wonder about how the numbers and letters were attached. Would likely be a typical strip and reletter job.

But, isn't this a fake anyways? If it's a Reebok, it's post lockout; Shouldn't the NHL logo on the authentic centre ice tag be going from bottom left corner to top right, not top left to bottom right?? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think it's fake - but that logo is a good catch. If you look at the NHL on the hem of the jersey, it is going the correct direction for a post-lockout logo. I checked a RBK 6100 that I know is legit (bought from HockeyGiant) and it has conflicting NHL tagging just like the Oilers 3rd in that auction.

the jersey is absolutely legit. the lettering looks like it has a computerised stitching. There should be no problem to removed it because most customisers who stitch by programmed computers use spray glue or twill with a sticky backing which requires to remove a thin foil from the back before applying it to the jersey or another layer.

All my Reebok 6100's have that same tag on them. I guess they just replaced the logo when they took over the CCM brand. Also, air-knit jerseys are fairly easy to strip. That would probably come off no problem.

hey guys I've got a quick one:

Is there such a thing as a pre edge era reebok jersey size 50, or size 54 for that matter?

There is no 50 or 54 in the Pre EDGE Reebok jerseys.

Those sizes went 46, 48, 52, 56.

I've made a huge mistake.

Fortunately, cost me almost nothing for shipping...

I saw that jersey at the last minute and didn't take the time to check if reebok produced size 54s

My Anaheim alternate and Islanders road would say otherwise. Not to mention my two Seattle Thunderbirds jerseys but those are CHL and don't really apply. Point is, Reebok does (and continues to) make size 54 in the non-edge jersey.

jersey actually looks surprisingly good, especially the back RBK logo appears embroidered and the shoulder patches seem to be keeping the right side of the sleeves (both front and back) from going down flat. I'm no expert on Pens jerseys though..

Reebok did produce size 54

Just wanted to show another example that RBK does make a 54, but based on the tagging it looks like they were made just for player use, not for retail. The tags on the sleeve of this Canucks jersey and the lack of the "RBK On-Ice authentic" (or something to that effect on the inside of the neck) tagging are what I try to look for. The 58s I have in my collection are tagged the exact same way:

http://cgi.ebay.com/AUTHENTIC-Vancouver-Ca...%3A1|240%3A1318

And just to add a little bit to the inside the neck and hem tagging conversation as well. All of the neck tags on my 6100s are "wrong" in that the NHL is going from the top left to the bottom right. Never noticed that before.

One thing I have noticed are small variations in the hem shield on some of my early 6100s. I have two of them (one is and Avs and the other is a Thrashers) that were made for game use and never lettered. They came from legitimate eBay sellers who got them from Meigray's sale a few years ago. Both of these jerseys have the RBK Vector on the back of the neck and the old NHL shield on the hem.

I'll post particulars later on the neck tagging on the 6100 game worn and game issued jerseys too. They are labeled differently than the retails. Always interesting to pay attention to the little quirks I guess, just so you know what you've got.

I stand corrected.

Reebok did produce size 54 but that Pens jersey is a fake

How is it a fake?

The seller is legit, and their website is really serious about jerseys. And when I look at the pictures, everything seems to be okay with the Malkin jersey. The only thing that worried me was the size but that's not a problem anymore.

I encourage you to visit their website, they give a full history of each and every jersey the pens ever wore.

I have been looking at this website for about 5 years now since it started. It is very correct in it's information about the history of the Pens, but it's marketplace link is NOT jerseys that the SITE has for sale. To purchase any of the jerseys you have to email the actual owner, not anybody from the site. I have seen the cheap knockoff '92 Pens (Griffinfood) jerseys for sale here as well. What caught my eye about that Malkin jersey is the fight strap. It is hard to see, but it looks like the knockoff Pens jerseys we see on Ebay all the time with the plastic numbers and letters, which I have seen on this site for quite some time. However, it does look like they have eliminated almost all of the knockoff jerseys that were for sale through their site.

What did Sidney Crosby and the Winter Classic ever do to this seller that he'd make this and label it a Winter Classic jersey?

I don't like Pittsburgh's blue jerseys either, like most of the fanbase does, but still....ouch.

I have an eye for lettering and this one tells me it's fake. There are details that I also found on other fakes with better pictures. The A in MALKIN is a very good point and also the bottom (serif?) of the 7 is another point.

The 7 is fine, but the 'M' and the 'A' in Malkin are off. I guess I'll have to return it!

Fake too? That's why I was wondering if size 50s existed.

First guess, and this is only a general rule of thumb: If Crosby was NOT the captain the season a particular jersey was worn, but it has the "C" on it, it is probably a knockoff. Same goes for the Gold Lemieux jerseys.

Nah that guy is also selling crosby jerseys with an A.

Yes, also a fake.

Can you please elaborate on what makes things fake more often? It's easy to call it a fake, but none of us are learning anything here. It's not a blatantly obvious one to me.

Gotta love this part in the description -

"As good or better than the Authentic design for a very Reasonable price."

Wow, I should buy two of them!
