mdwsta4
Gary Bettman's discussion about the NHL participating in the 2018 Olympics got me starting back up my search for an alternate 2010 USA jersey. It's a great design and seemingly impossible to find. Browsing eBay, I did find one seller (Vintage-Legends) who sells replicas that appear to be the only ones that match the actual jerseys worn. Biggest tell of course is the Nike swoosh on the white portion of the jersey and not the blue shoulders. Same goes for the rear where the name should be on the white portion of the jersey, not the blue shoulders. I decided to email them and ask some questions, here is the conversation: Me: Hi, do you have any close ups of the jersey? Are you willing to negotiate on the price on or off eBay? This is on the more expensive side for a replica jersey. Thanks! VL: Read description...Price is Not negotiable (my thinking: The description doesn't answer any of my main question and I understand the price standpoint, but dealing with Jersey Baron and other sellers, it was not an unreasonable question to ask. I did a google search and found another company that sells what appear to be the exact same jerseys (photos, description, etc) for $20 less and thought the two companies might be one in the same.) Me: Are you guys not the same as customthrowbackjerseys.com? VL: no (my thought: Great response...) Me: Thank you for your response. Seeing as the photos and description are the same, I thought you might have been the same company. Just an FYI from a customer service standpoint, you may want to work on your responses. They come off as extremely rude. VL: Thanks, that is our goal!! (my thinking: Paying $20 more for a better customer experience is hardly a big deal. But with these responses, why would anyone want to purchase something from this company? Let alone pay MORE for being treated like garbage) Me: That's absurd. You just lost a sale. I'll be sure to reaffirm your goal to off customers to the jersey forums. VL: Thanks....anything you can do to make sure other Dip Shits stay away from our products is greatly appreciated !! I'm not even going to bother responding to them anymore. I'm in awe that someone can run a business and have this poor of customer service. Thought I'd pass along this information in case anyone else was even considering doing business with this $hit hole of a company. Cheers, M
thebiggoalie
Post a link to the exact jersey you asked about. We can all bombard them with stupid questions. And that, ladies and gentleman, is why we join these forums.
mdwsta4
ha! If this was posted in response to a string of really stupid questions, instead of the valid ones you asked, that would be the best comeback ever. But as it was, just stupid from a customer service standpoint.
LAK74
I just noticed that this Vintage-Legends seller was now offering Jari Kurri and Wayne Gretzky CCM Burger King replicas: http://ebay.com/itm/JARI-KURRI-Los-Angeles-Kings-1995-CCM-Vintage-NHL-Hockey-Jersey-/311797860381?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150519202348%26meid%3Da565a9b15a9e4d21a7ad7c904fbfb2eb%26pid%3D100408%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D25%26sd%3D112296257804&_trksid=p2056116.c100408.m2460 http://ebay.com/itm/WAYNE-GRETZKY-Los-Angeles-Kings-1995-CCM-Vintage-NHL-Hockey-Jersey-/112296257804?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150519202348%26meid%3D361d83a2bec843538d40b99675854380%26pid%3D100408%26rk%3D14%26rkt%3D25%26sd%3D311797860381&_trksid=p2056116.c100408.m2460 I thought the pictures in the listings looked familiar to me, so I looked around on the internet, and sure enough, I found those exact same pictures- a Jari Kurri gamer from Splatched.com, and a Gretzky replica, whose pictures were featured in the Third String Goalie blog of our very own Jeff B. Those pictures are reproduced here: You can tell by looking at all the creases and folds in each jersey that the photos are of the same jerseys. What is amazing is that the seller went to the trouble of photoshopping new CCM Vintage Hockey neck labels into the collar area, a different CCM logo onto the rear hem, removing the Kurri autograph from the crest, and re-doing the photo borders. Why do all this instead of just taking photos of his own jerseys that he is selling? In the case of the Kurri, the customization is on-ice accurate, and surely won't look exactly like that on the jersey for sale. I find it quite dishonest to misrepresent the product like this, and now I understand why his other photos look the same as Custom Throwback Jerseys'- he probably stole all those too... TheKevinShow
He misspelled "gibberish," by the way... They've got a bunch of customized 2000-04 Mighty Ducks and I messaged them a while back asking about the price for a blank one so I could get it properly customized. I never got a response. Thank God. Edited February 8, 2017 by TheKevinShow

Almost as if in response to my comments, the seller has now changed the photos in his Burger King listings. The jersey in the pictures now looks like a real current Vintage Hockey replica, not 1990's originals owned by others. It still looks like he photoshopped the lettering kits over the jersey, but at least the base jersey itself is a more accurate representation of what I think is being sold. I should give him at least a little credit for that.

OR68
I just sometimes scratch my head when people continue to spend prices like that seller for crappy replicas or overpriced jereys from locker room sports but yet legit authentics and/or legit and properly customized replicas go for far less in many cases. That seller is a real toolbag regardless. Edited May 19, 2018 by OR68
