Wow, that's pretty sweet. I initially thought it was somebody trying to pass off a crap jersey because of the placement of the letter but I can see the stitching of the fight strap in that 2nd picture AND it looks like an EDGE 1.0 because of the way the arms lay and with that stretchy x-trafil material. Those weren't available in retail authentics if I recall correctly so I'd say that's a legit jersey.

What are people's thoughts on this one (and no it doesn't have both Hunter and Bondra on it, which was my first thought)?

What do I think? I think that is one of the finest examples of an NHL jersey ever created. The whites are nice but those red jerseys were just beautiful. It's gonna go high but if you can get it, it'll be worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY.

Well, you were right...it went for $285 (and that's before they go customize it). I gave it a good shot but it got away in literally the last 3 seconds of the auction - winning bid of $285 posted at 11:04:35 PST today and the auction ended at 11:04:36 PST today. My last bid (actually via my gf on my behalf) was at 11:04:32 PST- knew I should have maxed out higher than I did originally at 10:02:01 PST - I was good until less than 30 seconds before it ended- I was typing the number to increase my bid just as it ended. I lost to someone who bid last night and on Oct 29 before they bid literally the very last second.

This is the first I've seen of this, discuss.

As for this one, if it is real, they really need to learn to write.

Check out gixen.com, I doung it through JC and it has worked perfectly for me. You can set it and forget it so to speak and it bids with 5 seconds left. If you have the high number you win, without time for someone to nickel and dime you out of it over a few days.

I stupidly bought a jersey like this, before I knew what the correct number font looked like. Someone told me it was just a factory screwup. There's several of these Lightning jerseys with the wrong numbers on Ebay.

I just recently had a bad experience with ebay. I bought a cheap early 90's Maple Leafs replica home jersey. That was a mistake. The seller stated that the patches were sewn on, no rips or stains. I think they were inspecting the jersey in a cave. That thing was horrible. I'm happy that the seller will issue my money back. But, on the other hand, I scored a CCM team issued Wild jersey for a decent price.

Its kind of funny when i think about the Staal brothers...

The only one that DOESNT have a fake jersey out there is Eric, the most talented of all of them.

I realize its cause the Rangers and Pens ones are easier to do since they have several players with those jerseys and the font already.

I bought an authentic Islanders jersey a few months ago (fisherman style with but with the normal crest) that the seller described as "great condition!". when I got it it looked like the dude had spilled nacho cheese down the front, there was stains all over it. luckily got my money back on that.

another time I was about to win a white jersey (don't remember the team) that the seller described as "excellent condition". about 2 hours before it ended I looked at the pic again and noticed a faint stain on the front. when I asked the seller about it he said "well its in good shape for it's age". I canceled my bid.

bottom line- ebay sellers will say anything is in great shape in order to sell it.

Check out the off colors on the first photo, the blurry photo of the collar tag, and the screen capture of what the jersey would cost off NHL.com. Too bad its a 52...

That jersey is located about an hour from my hometown...

For some reason, that kinda bothers me.

Kids from Taiwan probably brought them over during the LLWS.

I just grabbed that, not sure about it being GW but <$70 for one of those kings sweaters is a decent deal

Its a good deal. Just one thing I may seem wrong. Make sure the letters aren't on a nameplate. It doesn't look like they are, but I see a piece of fabric under the names so its a little iffy. Other than that its a nice pickup. I love my Black kings Jersey, but need to sell it because of my latest pickup :(

I checked NHLUniforms and 89-91 had nameplates, then in 92 they went to a direct application.

I also found this:

Names on a plate..

On a related note, why did Crowder retire at 30? Injury problems? I looked up his stats and it looks like he was a pretty good power forward. I was about 4 when he retired so I never even heard of him until I stumbled across this.

Well this that is an airknit jersey shouldn't there be no nameplate? Mine from '93 is ultrafil. Sorry these little things are trivial and just bug me, if you love the jersey then go for it!

I thought all the Kings wore was Ultrafil. I can't remember seeing an air-knit version. Oh well, anomalies are interesting. I originally wanted a blank black one to customize with Tocchet, but this price was just too good.

That Crowder jersey is ultrafil; not air-knit. I think the Kings switched to air-knit in 1995-96 actually. That was probably the only year they wore CCM air-knit since they switched to Starter the next season.
