LAK74
The one on the white jersey looks real. The one on the blue jersey looks terrible- never seen a game patch that looked like that before. I don't see how that could be a gamer.
TMLFAN
So I guess I'm "The Authenticator" now, haha. (Actually, I'm quite flattered.) Well, until recently I would have said that Flyers845's patch looked like an original. However, after some recent conversations regarding the SC100 patch with some very experienced collectors in this forum, I am no longer so certain about my ability to distinguish between originals and a few very close reproductions which apparently came out later. I will say that I cannot see anything on this patch that definitely tells me it's not an original. It looks quite good to me, and I would have no problem using it on an authentic jersey. However, if you ask me if I am absolutely 100% certain that it is an original, I could not say so. Maybe Slim, Chow_hound or some others can chip in here with their opinions. That's good enough for me. Thanks bud.
chow_hound
Oh boy. That Blue buffalo jersey with patch looks BAD. I wonder if it was a gamer that got a repro patch added or re-added but definitely does not look like a legitimate game patch. There are a few variations of legit patches which were caused by stitching changing the facial expression and border thickness but that Blue patch in my opinion is not a barometer to compare against. CJ Matthews
To be fair that specific picture doesn't say it was from a gamer, but I'm not sure why he would have it up there if it's so bad.

chow_hound
Yup. Cant help unfortunately but ebay had one on an old sandow jersey. Could have been stripped off and used. This was awhile ago but maybe a member bought it?

Unless, a member did happen to buy it and would be interested in selling the patch, please PM me!

PensJerseys
Need a black Reebok wordmark. Yea, looking for a black and white one here. It seems like people were swapping those left and right about a year ago, and now I can't find any when I want one.

Pens4ever
Can somebody tell me if patches on game worns from the era 1990-2000 are having that thin layer of plastic on the back that all the NHL licensed repros are having? Do they have some kind of adhesive on the back or are they simply sewn on? Background is that I'm collecting authentics and removing this plastic layer is always quite a hassle and if game worns have patches are ironed on and sewn, I would stop peeling that stuff off. Thanks guys!!!
akteon
No, the plastic backing is there to make the patches themselves "collectible" and you should remove it before putting the patches on a jersey. Here's Jeff's great tutorial: How to remove the plastic backing from patches Edited August 13, 2015 by akteon
mfitz804
I have a jersey where the prior owner attached a plastic backed Stanley Cup patch. It's exactly as you imagine, completely rigid. Doesn't really make it any less comfortable to wear though.
vsxeworkingclass
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NHL-MILLENIUM-PATCH-FOR-DALLS-STARS-YEAR-2000-JERSEY-PATCH-/391096244226?hash=item5b0f271802 Legit? Also, would this be the correct patch for the Coyotes alternate? (Not sure if there were different green patches.)
HockeyMusic
ice_hockey_patches commonly sells reporductions, so I would assume this is also a reproduction until proven otherwise As for a pic of the back..... On the previous page in this thread, akteon has posted pics comparing reproduction to authentic NHL2000 patches http://forums.icejerseys.com/index.php?showtopic=6200&p=165605
