perthisthereason
Didn't know where else to put this, so apologies if this is not in the proper place. I am looking to get a 98-99 Rangers alternate jersey customized. Looking at gamers it looks like there were differences in how they did the names between sets 1 and 2. The first set has a silver outline on the letters whereas the set 2 jerseys appear to only have 2 layers. Does anyone know if the names/sleeve numbers/back numbers on the set 1 jerseys were triple-layered or kiss-cut? Thanks in advance. LAK74
Both sets were layered. I don’t think the Rangers started kiss-cutting stuff until the Reebok 6100 years.
thebiggoalie
Definitely layered. They were only kiss cut on the regular navy liberty jerseys several seasons later, during the Reebok 6100 era. As for the different name font, the league mandated the name change after set 1 because they felt the three layered one with the silver in the mix was too difficult for the tv announcers to read. That's what I thought, thanks for the confirmation.
