What is the designation of the R on the size tag?

Obviously a 54-G means goalie cut, what does 54-R mean?

And are the goalie cuts much bigger than the regular size?

I think you might have answered your own question.

I always assumed the R meant "regular"

To answer the other question, when talking about Starter jerseys (who I always think of when talking about the R and G designations) the goalie cut jerseys are a bit wider in the chest but the arms are huge. Like sleeve of wizard.
