I'd love to go back in time and get them all customized into Rick DiPietro ones to ruin them.

Don't waste your time on that place in Manhattan. I went down there this morning. His replica jerseys START at $130. He only has 2 authentics in his whole store, one of which is a blank white Nords Vintage line jersey and he wants $370 for that one.

Seriously...they will show up on eBay. I honestly never thought I get the chance to get another fisherman. They have been showing up more and more on the Bay

:( Sorry I didn't bother to go in that one time and would've saved you the trip. I can't believe the prices are that outrageous. The store seemed pretty dingy.

Yeah, those prices are absurd. I can get customized authentics in Brooklyn for around $150. The guy downtown is out of his mind.

shill bid there?

I really think you guys are quick to throw out the shill bidding accusation. There's nothing I see looking at the auction that screams shill bidding.

The guy has sold at least one other if you look at his feedback history (for $91) to another legit buyer. So it's not a stretch to think he's got a few of these jerseys.

There are just some idiots out there that don't understand or like to use eBay's proxy bidding. So the end up chasing someone else's bid with multiple small increments (stupidly) thinking they'll get something super cheap, instead of just bidding the most they'd be willing to spend.

Of the dozens of claims of shill bidding I've seen posted on these boards, I've only seen one maybe two that's undeniably shill bidding.

I think it was relisted...unless he has more http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180663310493&category=159122&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619

I'm saying it's not a stretch to think that a business selling outlet sporting goods would have a number of these. They were mass produced and not very popular when they came out (which is why they were ditched). They only have value now thanks to nostalgic hockey jersey nuts like us.

I think it'd be way less plausible for a business to resort to shill bidding to sell one single vintage jersey. Then to even keep the ruse up by having the buyer fake positive feedback for said jersey, just so they can sell it again?

I honestly didn't even look at the bidding history on the other jersey until it was pointed out lol.

People are very strange and people are struggling to get funds to live on, so nothing will surprise me with fake feedback.

So you still think it's shill bidding? Nothing in the bid history of any of the 3 auctions that seller has had clearly shows shill bidding. You then think that the positive feedback the first buyer left was fake to cover up the shill bidding? The buyer, who has 140 feedback of his own and no apparent connection to the seller, is in on the scam from your thinking? This whole operation revolving around a replica hockey jersey from the 90's?

All of that seems more reasonable to you than the concept that they have more than one jersey to sell? I don't know, if I had that much fear and paranoia that every seller on eBay is a scammer just because something sold for more than I wanted it to, I'd probably stop using eBay.

lol that was me until recently. I always hated e-bay cause I thought everybody was gonna scam me. Then, before I found this place, I bought a jersey. The customization on it was bad, and he tried to screw me over on his return policy. I'm surprised I still use e-bay lol.

The way I see it is there is value in getting the jersey from a more reputable place than some stranger on ebay. I'd be willing to pay more for a jersey from RCS than I would for the same exact jersey on ebay. How much more I have no idea, I guess it depends on how sure I was that the ebay jersey was legit. If the difference is something like $10-15, I'd definitely just buy it from an official place with a real return policy and everything.

Most of the authentics in my collection i have been able to get for 70 bucks or less, how? Im still not so sure..I did buy a jersey from this seller on eBay and he said he was just opening up a store so he sent me an email 3 months later attached with pictures of about 6 rbk edges so i offered him 230 total with shipping for all of them and he accepted it. Ive been very lucky to land sick deals like this and thats the only reason i continue to collect. If it wasnt for eBay i would still have only 1 jersey in my collection, a Daniel Alfredsson i bought from NHL.com for 170 when i was about 15. eBay is key for finding deals but not always best when it comes to customer service. Some people are real jerks.

And i guess thats why i cant land the islanders jersey i want, i could easily buy an authentic for 200 but after hearing some other members deals they got on theirs i feel like i gotta keep searching haha. However if it comes down to a difference of 10-20 dollars i will go the official place route then eBay.

I was able to get mine in the Summer of 2006 from an ice skating rink. They were clearanced for $50 ($10 shipping) and they sent me the wrong one (white, I ordered blue) and they said they would send the correct one (I would then send the white one back to them). A week passed and they forgot to mail it, so they said to keep the white jersey and the blue one they were going to send for free!

This was one of the few times in my life where I actually got lucky when it came to rectifying mistakes.
