noright85
Hello Everyone, I'm new to the forum. I joined this sanctuary because I think I'll start collecting jerseys more frequently. I have just placed an order at IJ for a customized Flyers Jersey with my name and number on the back... It's something I've wanted to do to show my support for a long time. However, I was ebay hunting and I've realized that Jerseys aren't overly expensive... that's when I found this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:X:AAQ:US:1123 Is it too good to be true? It's says it's new with tags and I really would like to add this to my collection (regardless of if it's a replica or not). The ebayer has pretty good reviews but I'm just very weary of buying anything from China. Has anyone had good experiences? Thanks for your advice. thebiggoalie
welcome here. You'll be alright because you chose to consult us first. That is a typical Ebay Korean Knockoff. Don't waste your money. There are many things to look out for on Ebay, but you followed a good rule of thumb; if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Unfortunately, most of my searches on Ebay seem to be so watered down with knockoffs that I think I may retire from collecting soon. I only need a few more jerseys on my WANT list and I can call it a day.
noright85
Thank you for your reply. I always research before I bite the bullet. How do you know that it's a Korean Knock off? I'd like to be able to pick these things out for future Jerseys! Thanks.
thebiggoalie
That jersey looks okay, but that's because I believe it's a stock image from NHL.com or something like that, but if you look at the other jerseys from that seller, they are the most popular counterfeit jerseys on Ebay, so I would lean towards believing that all of their jerseys are knockoffs. The Lundqvist Rangers jersey with the Leetch retirement patch, the Canadiens jersey with both All Star patches, All of the Winter Classic jerseys, The Iginla or Pheaneuf Clagary jerseys, almost EVERY Ovechkin jersey, the classic Pittsburgh jersey with or without the 1992 patches, Kane or Teows Hawks jerseys, and lately, the Edmonton jerseys. The shiny jersey lettering is usually crap. It's stiff plastic-like material, and eventually falls apart from the jersey. The fight strap is horribly stitched on, the seams are a little off, etc.. 99% of the Reebok jerseys you see on Ebay are fakes. Lately they have even made vintage CCM knockoffs with the CCM logo somewhere on it. If a seller sells ONE knockoff jersey, they are most likely selling ONLY knockoffs. Steer clear of these sellers. There are some legitimate replica jerseys shipped from Indonesia because they are actually made there for Reebok. Quality is at an all-time low right now, so let us know before you purchase anything on Ebay first. Good luck.
noright85
I don't want a counterfeit jersey but I don't mind if it's not an authentic one. I don't mind having the RBK Replicas... I'm just starting out. However, if you're telling me this isn't legit, then I'll definitely be cautious. I'm also messaging other buyers who left feedback to see what their reactions are. Thanks again.
peca_fan
almost any jersey that gives you the choice of size 44/46/48/50/52 of big name stars (Richards, Price, Koivu, Iginla, Crosby and Malkin Winter Classics, and the Wings/Hawks Winter Classics from this year) are fakes. noright85
Is it authentic? How's the stitch job? I'm looking at buying it but I'm unsure. http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/showim...,0&format=0 Leo
blackstealth
this is a premier (replica) not authentic.
noright85
But it is a real replica? What about the other Jerseys they have? I just don't want a Korean knock off.
thebiggoalie
You could have just posted this in the thread you already started. Mod edit: Done!
Finny
Yeah as said above, if you look at what else they are selling and there is a winter classic involved or the auction states a number size and letter size such as 52/XL then don't even waste your time. They are likely fake. To be honest if your looking for Edge, don't even bother trying ebay unless it is full of pictures. As far as premiers I just don't see the great deals on ebay for them, just a little bit more nets you one from an online store. Ebay's sole prupose should be for tracking old jerseys because it's pretty much the only place where you can find them unless someone on here is unloading some. Carl
Since 1 year and a half, I only bought 2 edge jerseys on ebay. Legit edge jerseys usually come from individuals reselling because their player got traded or need money.
noright85
http://reviews.ebay.com/Reebok-RBK-Edge-Au...000000004619785 Great article. I'm much more informed now about the differences. However... http://cgi.ebay.com/Authentic-Mike-Richard...%3A2%7C294%3A50 This leads me to believe that it's authentic edge... but the price leads me to believe it's a rip off. This Jersey game is tedious to say the least.
JustAnothaVictim
http://reviews.ebay.com/Reebok-RBK-Edge-Au...000000004619785Great article. I'm much more informed now about the differences. However... Just one point in the article is not correct. Reebok doesn't make any size 44 and 48 Edge Jerseys. So if you see a size 48 Edge Jersey on ebay, then it's definitely fake. This Jersey game is tedious to say the least.http://cgi.ebay.com/Authentic-Mike-Richard...%3A2%7C294%3A50 This leads me to believe that it's authentic edge... but the price leads me to believe it's a rip off. This Jersey game is tedious to say the least. Well, he already took pics to prove it's a fake. Thanks to the spreaded sleeves you can see how completely wrong the jersey was cut. A real Edge jersey won't let you spread the sleeves like that. Besides that, the tail looks almost straight. In another picture you can see the RBK logo which looks crooked(?) above the nameplate. That tells me that the logo is directly embroidered onto the jersey. The real one should be a sewn on patch. And I'm missing the underarm gussets on that Flyers jersey. Finny
Was Pittsburgh Penguins an exception with the Edge jersey? I thought they had the RBK logo on the sleeve but I could be wrong. Also wondering about the two slits on the bottom of the jersey, for some reason I thought Penguins were set apart from the rest.

Well, the RBK logo on the sleeves are on the replicas of everey NHL Team (don't know about other leagues). The replicas and Authentics are cut slightly different and made those slits only on replicas.
Finny
Yes I just thought Pittsburgh was different then the rest, I have no idea why other then being Crosby's team. I'll find out one of these days when I order an actual authentic, I want to get a Staal jersey.

The replicas and Authentics are cut slightly different and made those slits only on replicas. AHL Premiere replicas do not have the vector on the sleeves, or the jock tag. The Reebok vector and AHL logo are at the middle bottom rear hem. They are made in Canada and do not feature sewn-on shoulder patches, glued-on 2D patches.
