I really enjoyed the Breakaway Challenge, Ovechkin was definitely the star of the show in that event. Chara's blast in the Hardest Shot was very impressive, though I was surprised to see that Lecavalier could shoot it that hard. The 3 on 3 YoungStars game was very fun to watch, all those breakaways were fun to watch. Legace did a good job in that game, but the kids put on a great show. I noticed that with Stastny hurt, the Avalanche had no representation in the all-star game itself. I completely forgot about and missed the young stars game. The All-Star jerseys were only worn tonight for the All Star game I thought I had heard Emrick say that they wore the AS jerseys last night, so I was curious. The bad news is that the Canadian Press decided to provide "context" to those numbers by citing ratings for the NBA All-Star Game -- as much a cultural event as it is a sporting event -- and the MLB All-Star Game, which is on broadcast television rather than cable. Ratings were strong where you'd expect them to be strong: Buffalo (3.3), Pittsburgh (3.0), Detroit (2.8), Philadelphia (2.2) and Minneapolis-St. Paul (2.1)."
