SystemShock
I was recently ordered this: http://shop.nhl.com/product/index.jsp?prod...dy_bestsell_img for Christmas, and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a captain patch for this particular jersey from that particular era. I have had no luck so far, but if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be grateful. And just in case for anyone who has this around here, does it come with a C patch? It should be coming with a captain "C". Have you tried to contact them? You should also try to get some real pictures of the jersey you want because the numbers don't seem to have the correct font. Brilliant!
Oddly enough, the font that they're using in that shot is the same that the Pens wore while winning the Cup(s). Yet, they still list it as 1985. The jersey style is the same but it's still funny. Of course, it could just be a generic picture because the numbers and letters are obviously disproportioned. Hey...if nothing else, you can just say it's from the 1991 season instead!

Hopefully I will still have time to cancel the order if it is indeed the wrong uniform.
JeffB
I emailed them containing a link to the nhl uniforms site. Hopefully I will still have time to cancel the order if it is indeed the wrong uniform. First, what's with the black outline around the logo? That's not looking right. Mine doesn't have that and it's a CCM Vintage. vs. Second, those darn Penguins jerseys all come with the wrong sleeve number font. Too tall and too skinny. Makes me crazy. See how almost square in shape they should be? Then, that's no 1985 jersey. The sleeve stripes should be at an angle, the number should be up on the shoulders and the font for the name should have serifs and the back numbers are the wrong font for 1985 and the name is rather huge too. That's way to many problems for me. That is however, a 1990-91 jersey with the wrong sleeve font, strange outline around the main logo, huge name and no "C". Again, not what it could be. I wonder why the logo has the extra outline. Is that sample picture a mock-up in photoshop or a photo of the real thing?

I wonder why the logo has the extra outline. Mine is a CCM Vintage and it doesn't have that. Is that sample picture a mock-up in photoshop or a photo of the real thing? No idea if it is a photoshop job or not. That jersey in your photo is EXACTLY the kind of jersey I am expecting to get. Yet, as you have pointed out, what I am expecting may not be exactly what I am getting. I will await a reply from the shop before I cancel the order or not. But if they have made a mistake I will definitely take this into consideration before I order another uni from the nhl shop. You would think THEY could at least get the year right. You're a slacker McFly, a SLACKER.
JustAnothaVictim
I've the Pens logo like that before. Didn't the one on their 80's 3rd jersey had that black outline? As for the fonts I was talking about... the jersey style was also worn 1985 but the numbers are wrong. I was pointing out to these fonts: This jersey is from 1988-1989. In 1985 the small numbers were on the shoulder, yellow with a white outline
SystemShock
Still no reply from customer service. I will just wait and see what I get whenever it comes (they were backordered). If it is wrong I can always send it back.

SystemShock
Called customer service and laid everything out. The lady said it would be 2-3 days before they could forward a response to my email address. Hopefully it won't ship out before then so if it is wrong I won't be stuck with a jersey I do not want. Also, IceJerseys has the same two jerseys (image wise) as listed on shop.nhl.com A 1992 Penguins Lemieux Replica (same as in the images above), and a 1985 Alt Lemieux Replica (solid gold, numbers on the shoulders). Is there any correlation between what shop.nhl.com carries and icejerseys carries? If so, maybe shop.nhl just has the wrong year listed for the black jersey. Or I might just cancel it all together and order it from somewhere else. *wink wink*
Brilliant!
The jerseys themselves should be the same since there's only one Vintage line from the NFL. The customization though...I'm not sure. I would think that an Ultrafil nameplate and black and yellow twill would be fairly common so they're probably the same also. Or I might just cancel it all together and order it from somewhere else. *wink wink* Speaking from experience, you may be better off. I've ordered a few customized jerseys from nhl.com and they've come with an overall rushed look, a lot of hanging threads and one even came with the wrong color name backing! You can't go wrong with IceJerseys.

SystemShock
I canceled the order today, figuring if they had it wrong I did not want to be stuck with something I did not want. So, I have so far elected to go with this: https://www.icejerseys.com/cart/item_details.php?id=1481

ZoomZoom18
I ordered my Avalanche alternate jersey from here and was very pleased with the timeliness that it showed up. That Orr jersey is sharp, can't go wrong with that one!
JustAnothaVictim
... didn't want to start another Lemieux thread.... I just found this beauty on ebay http://cgi.ebay.de/Rare-Mario-Lemieux-Pitt...1QQcmdZViewItem and I was thinking of customising my own size 58-R, even though it fits really big and long. Do you think I should fix the hem like they did on the Lemieux jersey? It would shorten the by a half inch (at least something). And since Mario wore his jersey like that, why shouldn't I wear mine like that. Please let me know wkat you think of this idea. I can't seem to find anyone who has this jersey in size 54-R or my 56-R and trade it for mine.
Brilliant!
WOW. That is gorgeous. I never knew that Pittsburgh wore mesh jerseys. I thought their Starters were always of that other, softer material.

I thought their Starters were always of that other, softer material. They wore Mesh jersey for one half of that season. The other half they wore Ultrafil jerseys. BTW, the hem of my Starter jersey now looks like the hem of Mario's jersey, shortened by an inch. All I need is to find a nameplate for it. I hope I can find some cheap blank Starter something in the clothing section at Wal-Mart
