Brilliant!
I've always been a huge fan of the customization done to the goalie masks in the league. Ever since they started painting the newer style of helmet, the ideas have gotten better and more creative. I have a link to a page filled with images of older masks from the mid to late 90's era of the NHL. There's some great shots on here but I'm curious to see if there's anything out there about the more recent masks. I know the ones some of the league has now are really wild. Kari Lehtonen has a Kill Bill sequence on his and Andrew Raycroft has a panaroma of all Maple Leaf hall of famers including the old Maple Leaf Gardens on his. And yes, even if I hate his team, Rick DiPietro has a really nice looking paint job of the stars and stripes and even honors the military on his helmet. If you have any links to some good shots of recent masks then throw 'em on up! Also I'd like to hear some of the favorites you guys have as well. Mach_9
Here's the guy who did Ryan Miller's helmet, which I love. He's got some nice ones on his site. http://www.bishopdesigns.com/gallery.html

One has Final Fantasy girls on it - though Lehtonen claims he never played the game, just saw a commercial and decided to get them. The other has Uma Thurman and Lucy Lu's characters from Kill Bill. Link to the old mask works, but the pictures seem to not be up anymore.
lafountain
The mask design for Lehtonen is really well done. I hadn't seen any up close pictures of most of the masks for this year. So far many of the ones I have seen have looked really good though.
Mach_9
I've always loved looking at Goalie masks, but you see some really odd ones out there and some that are just plain ugly. Lehtonen's are pretty nice. I love Ryan Miller's though it looks better head on - the charging buffalo with red eyes. Goalie mask artwork is one of the funner aspects of hockey equipment. Brilliant!
I remember one of Hextall's from...I wanna say 1997 or so when he had the Philadelphia skyline around the jaws of the helmet. That one was sharp. Then of course, Mike Richter's which inspired the Rangers 3rd jersey.
