DerbyCoyote
Can you rely on the style of Starter logo on a jersey (either that S and star style or the "Starter" style) to work out what year a jersey is from accurately? On my Starter Bruins road jersey it's got the S-Star style, so is that definitely a 96/97 jersey, as opposed to 97/98 or 98/99? They didn't chop and change during the season? JustAnothaVictim
Does it have the STARTER wordmark below the S-Star log? Well actually it should for the 96/97 season because they changed it for the 97/98 and 98/99 season to:
akteon
Here's what I know (info and pics taken from this post on another board) 1995-96: First season of Starter only worn by Avs used the box logo. 1996-97: Second season of Starter home, away, & 3rd jerseys used the S-Star with Starter beneath. 1997-99: Final two years of Starter away/dark jerseys switched to Starter text without the S-Star logo, while the white/home & 3rd jerseys maintained the S-Star logo and Starter text as in 96-97. This matches what I've personally seen with jerseys I've had as well as what is on NHLUniforms.com
