flountown
Nice Tampa jersey. With the number 93 already on it, so would that be Darren Puppa but without the nameplate added to it? The nameplate originally was personalized but the guy removed his last name to sell the jersey.
JeffB
The nameplate originally was personalized but the guy removed his last name to sell the jersey. He's lucky he at least chose a number that related to an actual player, rather than, oh, say... 69.
slime
Is this legit? It looks pretty good to me but I wasn't 100% sure (only due to the price). I almost got it for a steal - the winner still might have an absolute bargain on it though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=300328344606
Brilliant!
Yeesh. You know, the stamp on the hem almost got me but holy crap did you see the Nike logo and NHL shield on the hem?? AWFUL! Dude did a great job with the set stamp; even though it's way too small...the only thing missing is the dash between 1997 and 98. The patches look great; the Cup patch is 100% accurate with the clipped tails at the base too. It was a good try but the jersey itself looks bootleg-ish. This is the best comparison I could find online: http://www.iwn.fi/~dana/players/Fedorov_98.html Do you think that is fake too? I guess it could be, as it's listed in the "Traded Pro and Semi Pro" section, not the game worn. Still I would have been happy with that jersey for $40 odd, I love those patches and I used to really like Fedorov's Nike gear at that particular time. Brilliant!
That looks like the same jersey to me...with the crappy hem logos. Also, I'm pretty sure that the colors were dyed on the jersey rather than being sewn on individually. It probably would've been worth the $40 though. If nothing else, you would've gotten two really nice looking patches.
slime
Yep looks exactly the same to me too. I agree, probably worth $40, but not worth thousands like a real one! PS: have you guys seen that site before? It looks like a pretty good resource for Game Worns. Edit: You're right about the stamp, here's a 1998 McCarty Game Worn. The stamp has a dash between 97-98. Not sure about the stitching on the sleeves of the jersey but the shoulders definitely look sewn together? And I guess you could say, from what you can see, that the Nike tag looks better on the game worn. http://www.gamewornjerseys.com/cgi-bin/jer...ey.cgi?mccarty2
Brilliant!
That is a pretty good site. I've seen it before. He sure does have some no-namers though doesn't he? It's like the guy has a monopoly on Finnish players in the NHL.
akteon
That's the first fake aside from the Greztky Rangers fakes that have fake game worn/issue tags.
conshok26
Is there a website like NHL uniforms for AHL uniforms? there is a Cincinnati Swords jersey on eBay and I'm thinking of getting it. I'm not sure what year it's from or if it's even legit since it doesn't look like the other jerseys I've seen for them. Any help would be great. IIHFjerseycollector
As far as I know NHL numbers were NEVER heat pressed on.A couple teams did use heat-sealed kits actually. The Penguins did in the early-to-mid 80's, the Nords did from NHL to 1991, the Rockies used screened on and heat-sealed kits and so did Atlanta. Also, the Blues used totally heat-sealed jerseys in 1985-86 and 1986-87. Oh and the Canucks during their 'V' years also had heat-sealed numbers. very interesting and good to know! thank you! very surprising the NHL went that route.. ahhh the good ole days. Brilliant!
I've seen some scenarios where jerseys were passed down to the teams minor-league affiliate and just had the new crest sewn over the old one. It doesn't say it in the description and this probably isn't the case here but I have seen some pretty wild minor-league jerseys on the intarwebs out there. Passed down Islanders jerseys, Atlanta Flames jerseys and even St. Louis Blues Rawlings jerseys handed down to a local high school team! GAH! slime
Does anyone have an idea why this jersey fetched such a high price ($71)? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=370226775319 I've seen a couple of people on here with Lemieux's in this jersey style. Curry1fan
Hmmm, rarity maybe? One of the more veteran collectors may be able to confirm this for me, but I think that style was only used once in international play. That's nothing though b/c some of the several-years-old AHL Penguins jerseys I wanted (blanks no less!) went for $90-$100 and I lost the bidding wars for them b/c I was not willing to pay that much for something not worn by the team anymore, not autographed, and not customized. Crazy, huh?

Good price too.http://cgi.ebay.com/Wayne-Gretzky-authenti...1|293:1|294:200 Brilliant! and I already discussed it. Fake. The tags are messed up (spelling errors) and that lettering doesn't look like twill. It looks like Chinese fake crap. Those NHL shields also look too big. Hope this isn't your jersey that you're trying to get noticed on here.

JeffB
IIRC, they didn't even wear these jerseys in competition - just for exhibition games. I think Jeff can confirm this, though. The Mens team wore it twice in tune up games for the 2004 World Cup without the World Cup patch. They used one color white names and numbers. It was never worn in the actual World Cup, the Olympics or the World Championships. The World Junior Team wore it at least once that I know of when Pierre-Marc Bouchard was on the team, and they used two color numbers, white trimmed in red.
