Islanders general manager Garth Snow has a bit of a problem here. Getting Smyth signed is a priority in the GM's office. Smyth, however, has earned his position as a soon-to-be unrestricted free agent and Snow is not entirely confident he will be able to get a deal done. I'm still hoping that Smyth ends up in Edmonton, but there's another thing that comes to mind. Could this become a trend? I guess this is what the Flyers did with Hartnell and Timonen?
