DasChuck77
I like em...except of the secondary mark with the bird crotch outlining the capital building...lol. But I would buy that or the Bruins jersey over a jersey with the slug on it. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...7062102100.html

Am interested to see the White jersey that the article said is what the Caps will hand to their draft pick. I do like the look, though the shoulder crest will take some getting used to. tomtucker
UGH, that is really ugly, the collar looks like something from a soccer jersey, that "eagle" is awful, and the square puck?.....one of the worst ever!
ZoomZoom18
I have to say, I like it and I'm really wanting to see what it looks like on someone other than just a frame of the jersey itself. I like the modernized vintage logo they are going with.
DesertRat
I'd like to see the entire jersey first, you know, stripes, yes/no? The new logo looks like something they'd make in a 'turn ahead the clock' promotion. I'm not saying it's good or bad, however. I want to see the finished product. JeffB
I'd like to see the rest of it, but doubt there will be any waist stripes just based on the impression I get from the treatment of the arms. I'd sure like to see the font they use for the names and numbers though before passing final judgement. I guess my first impression is that I like the colors, think the font for the crest could have been a step or two bolder and would like to have seen some more (and larger) stars, being influenced by not only the original Caps jerseys, but this year's all-star jerseys. lafountain
Still haven't seen the fonts, but here is both jerseys. Gonna have to buy a red Ovechkin next season.

Brilliant!
Not bad. I'll pick one up. I just don't like the way the hemline is BLANK now. They should've left the crest down there instead of putting it on the chest.
Mach_9
I'll be going with the white one for my Ovechkin; there's blue under the arms where you can't see in those pictures and it looks really good.
DesertRat
A white Ovechkin one looks like the winner, once I decide to get one. I prefer the white jersey because of the contrast. The red one has a lot of red upon red elements (red NHL neck tag, no white trim on waist). The red jersey's sleeves with the white stripe going down them reminds me too much of the Arizona Cardinals. Same reason I'll be going with a white Ovie. Too much red on red. I don't like any jersey that has too much of one color in multiple areas. It's the reason I took the white Sabres "slug" instead of the blue.
PensFanRJ
Here is the backs of the jerseys with the fonts for the names and numbers. Whoa... readable names and numbers on a Caps jersey? What a concept! Personally, I like them. An ode to the past with the modernized logo, the modern striping, and the good ol' red, white and blue color scheme. A nice job. JeffB
My second impression, now seeing them in full and with numbers for the first time, is that I really, really don't like the fact the red jersey does not have a white waist stripe and the font, meh. Not great, but far from, oh say, Russia's Nike Swift stupidity.
ZoomZoom18
They definitely don't look bad with pads on underneath. The Caps did a good job on this one and I love that new logo. From the back on the white one there looks like there's a little too much white.
Mach_9
http://images.ea.com/ea/_img/news/nhl_screens/wsh_4.jpg That angle shows the blue under the arms and I think those jerseys will look great. I'm enjoying the fact that EA's already got the new stuff ready to go for the game too.

They REALLY got it right. I'm gonna be forced to go with my 5th Ovechkin jersey because I don't like anyone else on the team (Semin is not a name I want to wear on my back and Backstrom hasn't played yet, so he's too big a question mark). tomtucker
Too plain looking for me, only one color in the name on the back, the old one had 3!......some say it was hard to read, but when i hold up my jersey it looks beautiful......only one color now, and it will cost around 325$...... . http://public.fotki.com/Squirrel-Nutkin/ca...3;/caps182.html

Look closer, it's red on blue on the away jersey, white on blue on the home jersey.

The name is all white on the red jersey; the number has blue around it. On the white jersey both are two colored. At least, that's how it appears to me. I know some complain the old font was hard to read, yeah like hockey commentators, well, buy some glasses fool! . I still think this font with 3 colors kicks a-hole: . http://cgi.ebay.com/ALEXANDER-OVECHKIN-AUT...VQQcmdZViewItem . .

At least, that's how it appears to me. Go back to the slide show and look at slide #67, that's the back of the jersey. Now, look at slide 47 has a one-color name, but it also has the tiny NHLPA logo to the right of the number. That is the back of the player t-shirt from slide 46. Mach_9
Hey when are these becoming available for pre-order through IJ? The NHL store has the replicas online for $169 personalized, but the name/numbers are screen printed, which I have no interest in. The Capitals' website has their own pre-order special of $99 for a replica plus $60 for customization, but they sew on duel-layed twill names/numbers, making it $159 for an Ovie sweater, which I may be interested in but, being myself, I'm going to try to hold out for the authentic... unless it's not going to be available (at least as a pre-order) for quite a while.
