HawksFanInDC
Anybody know the dates that Tony Amonte wore the Hockey Fights Cancer Patch for the Hawks in 2001 and 2002, and what colored jerseys they were wearing? I have been trying to find any images or video and am striking out.

I can't find a good photo of either game, and if I am able to eliminate the one where they wore the alternates, I still can't be certain where they put the patch. akteon
I was looking for the same exact info on the Rangers. I know they wore blue, but don't know tha dates. I was never able to find a picture of any of the Rangers Captains during those years. I was able to contact the guy who owns the Leetch gamer from 2002 with the HFC patch and although he didn't have a photo to give me, he did tell me where it was placed which I used to have my 2003 Messier customized. JeffB
That's a tough one. I looked through my old photo files of the HFC patches and the best I could come up with was an Alexei Zhamnov 02-03 Blackhawks HFC jersey. The other bummer is the MeiGray population reports start with 02-03. http://www.nhlgameworn.com/edealinv/servlet/ExecMacro?nurl=static/PopuReport.vm&ctl_nbr=2490 I do know that the 2001 patches were the first and did not have the date on the right side as part of their design, so if you do find a photo, that will help you date it. Yeh, big problem for me is they wore the alts one game, and no idea if they wore white in the other. I have seen the Zhamnov pic, problem is in 2001 we had the 75th anni patch so the cancer patch has to be next to it, or on the other side by the Captain's C. I will keep looking. HawksFanInDC
So, I was able to find this very old photo on microfilm from the Chicago Tribune. The Hawks for sure wore white the game on January 19th against the Capitals. I can see Amonte in the background with the Captain's C, but cannot tell if there is a patch next to it, towards the neckline. Anybody know how to clean this photo up at all and help me out? akteon
The Chicago Tribune does have a website for their photo archives: http://www.tribunephotos.com However, I couldn't find that particular photo. Perhaps you could contact them.
