StayFrosty
What are your thoughts on representing more than one team at once? Like say, wearing a jersey of one team, and a baseball cap of another team? Where I am it seems to be frowned upon to even wear gear of any team other than the Home team. But I like quite a few teams, and I like to represent all of them on different ocassions by wearing their gear. But people don't seem to understand why anyone would have jerseys of a team that isn't your favorite. Maybe they just don't realize it's my hobby and I can afford it, I dunno. I suppose most fans are NOT jersey collectors, and they would be happy to have just a couple jerseys of their favorite team. Personally, I can be wearing the colors of a team one day, and the colors of another team the next day, especially depending on whether or not it's the season or playoffs, and which teams are playing on that day. The Home team does take priority over the others. But honestly, I think being a hockey fan is a pretty dismal thing if you can't like any teams other than your Home team and even wear their merchandise as well. Sad if you can only depend on 1/30 teams to bring home the Cup. Besides, hockey is much bigger than any team. But where I am there are so many bandwaggoners who only watch hockey if our team is winning. So what about representing more than one team at once? Wearing a hat from one team and a jersey from another at the same time? Feel free to comment on everything else I said as well.
DropkickMurphy8
No, just no. I was walking out of the student parking lot on my way into class the other day and saw some idiot wearing a Rangers hoodie with a Yankees hat. Pick one, either it's hockey or it's baseball season. Me personally, I only buy stuff for teams that I'm actually a fan of, which is why I only have Rangers, Yankees and Saints gear. I guess you could get away with Islanders/Mets, since the colors at least match and you don't look stupid like you would if you were wearing a blue or orange hoodie and, say, a green Jets hat. If you're gonna represent two teams at the same time, at least make sure the colors match.
amonte78
I'm a Blackhawks/Bears/Cubs fan, so I usually wear a combination of those teams. I do like a lot of other sport franchises. I caught myself on a lazy weekend going to the supermarket wearing Yankees sweatpants, a Braves-jacket and a Cubs-cap...... Good topic btw! StayFrosty
Actually, I only like hockey. I don't watch other sports. Right now I own caps and jerseys for the Oilers, Leafs, Sens, Habs, and Canucks. Since I'm limited to hockey as my only sport, I guess I over-compensate and like too many NHL teams. So I guess it would be an even bigger no no to wear gear for two different NHL teams? Like a Canucks Jersey and a Sens cap? That's mainly what I was talking about. NoThreadSet
I don't ever mix and match teams (hats/jersey), but I don't have a problem with it either. The closest to mixing I get would be like wear a team and a hat with an NHL shield on it. I think there are too many teams (in any sport) to limit myself to only 1. dsl135
I don't have a problem with it. If its two teams from the same sport, that's odd, but two teams from different sports is fine, ESPECIALLY when they're the same city.
Edge 2pointzero
I personally hate it. Two teams from the same sport at the same time particularly drives me nuts. Just like seeing people wearing knock off jerseys. They seem so proud that the piece of $hit they are wearing only cost them 35 bucks. I'm sorry, but that might be the most condescending thing I've heard in a long time... he's an idiot for wearing a Rangers hoodie and a Yankees hat? They're both from the same city, different sports, and the seasons are both going on right now. If it was a Rangers hat with an Islanders hoodie you'd have an argument, but you're just looking for petty things to criticize about people. And he's a student, he might not have an extensive collection of sports wear. If you're really that judgmental in real life, with all due respect please go yourself. I,m less than a half mile away from the pa border but still stuck in ny When I was a kid I couldn't get into ny hockey teams but watching the nordiques with forsberg was fun and when they moved to colorado I was already hooked
StayFrosty
Neither Leafs nor Habs are my favorite team, so I don't have a problem liking both of them. My "thing" is getting to finally see a Canadian team win the Cup one day, because I've never seen that before in my time as a hockey fan. It's been such a long time. Brilliant!
I can safely say that I am both a fairly hardcore Rangers AND Blues fan. Why the Blues? No idea. I've gravitated to them since as far back as I can remember. Maybe it was because as a youngster, my uncle got me tickets to see Blues-Devils for my birthday. That was back when Hull and Oates were on top of the league too so I'm sure that had something to do with it. Plus they've had some of the nicest uniforms in the NHL at times. i.e. 2003-04 Vintage 3rds.

No idea I was 13 in 98, I just thought they looked pretty cool in the Hockey News I guess. Now that Ive been there a few times, I think a made a pretty good choice on a second team. Place rules, Id recommend anyone and everyone to go to a game there ASAP.
hatryk
I think unless you're going to the game, if you wear more then two team clothing items together its too much. Like I can't wear my isles jersey turtleneck pants hat sneakers together.
NYIJM29
You can mix and match different sports teams (i.e. Isles jersey with Yankees hat and Jets trousers, etc.) But I dont think you can mix a Coyotes hat with an Islanders jersey.
