Rangers Liberty Jerseys?

Hey guys,

Anyone know where I can find a (preferably white) Rangers Liberty jersey? Ideally I'd like to find a CCM with a worthwhile player on it (Richter, Messier, Leetch, Gretzky etc) and preferably with tags, but I know that's going to be next to impossible. I already have a blue Lindros Liberty (yes, I said Lindros. I know....) and I'd really like to find a white one. Hell, even if anyone knows where I can get a blank with tags on it, I'd consider it for the right price if someone knew where I could send it to get it customized properly.

Looking for size large or extra large if it's CCM. For some reason the crest on the Starter Liberty jerseys looks smaller, maybe it's my eyes.

Thanks

I can't help you on where to find one but I can tell you that the white liberty's were only used for one year (98-99) and they were made by Starter.

I've actually seen a few CCM's. There was just one on eBay that was worn and sold for 200 bucks. Richter. I was watching it but not for that price for something that's not new. Are the CCM's knockoffs?

Pro Player did make white Liberty replicas in 1999. I have one. The collar was different from the Starter version.

I've always felt like the collar was wrong on the Pro Player version, but the CCM incarnations that I see on Ebay all have the same collar. If the CCM's aren't what was worn on the ice, which collar is "right"?

Pic won't load for me.

Looking at this pic of TGO it would seem the ProPlayer collar is correct.

Hehe, access denied lol. This isn't working :-(. I guess I'll take your word for it. The CCM jerseys have the same collar as the PP, so I trust that.

The year the Rangers wore the White Liberty jersey they wore Starter so if you are picky about the brand and if you could choose i would go with a Starter replica

I also see that the Starter Liberty jerseys have the crest sewn on. Even my Koho replica isn't sewn on the front, just heat pressed. Everything else is sewn though. I wonder, would it be possible to get the crest sewn professionally?

Some members on here can do that for you

I'm thinking about just going back to where I got the Lindros Liberty and buying the blank they had for 80 bucks, sending it to EPS and having them make me a Richter. Also, the Gretzky pic works now for some reason. Maybe my browser was playing with me again, but the PP collar is definitely accurate.

Obviously the Starter authentics had the correct collar (since they were what was worn on the ice):

Unfortunately Starter replicas sometimes had issues with accuracy. I seem to remember some problems with Coyotes replicas done by Starter as well.

One important decision to make when getting a Rangers white Liberty customized is if you want to go with a 3 color name or a 2 color name. The Rangers started the season with 3-color names, but the league said they didn't get permission to use three colors, so after only a couple games they were forced to switch to 2-color names.

I would absolutely go with the 3-color letting and numbers. I've seen the 2-color and I think it's absolutely hideous. I sent an email to EPS and for $65 I'd definitely buy blank replicas of both colors and have them customized with Richter or Gretzky on the white and the the other or Messier/Leetch on the blue.

On Edit - Your picture just now loaded for me, I see you have 2-color lettering. The Richter doesn't look as bad as I was expecting, but I believe the one that just sold for $200 on eBay had 3-color, and the one Gretzky is wearing in the pic above definitely looks better in my opinion.

Do you know if they'll ship? I'm in NYC. I know the place I got my Lindros from had a blank blue one sitting there, but it was 80 bucks and I think that's a bit much for a blank replica when they go on eBay for 50 on a regular basis.

I was just in City Sports Lettering yesterday and they had a blue one, not sure of the size but it might be worth giving them a call:

SportsK wants $75 and I've heard horrible things about them.

Off-topic slightly but did EPS raise their prices? $65 for a kit? That sounds high to me.

I'm sure they would since they do customization and ship those jerseys, the guys there are really cool so it's worth at least a phone call to find out..

Thanks, MountainKing.

Akteon - Do you have a picture of the front of your white Liberty? I'd be interested to see the size of the crest, it's always looked small to me on the Starter Liberty jerseys compared to the blue, or even white, CCM Liberty and even my blue Koho. Since you have an authentic, on-ice jersey, I'm curious. I wouldn't feel so bad buying a white Liberty with a smaller crest if that's how it's supposed to be.

Here is a jersey i had personally customized and before anyone says yea its a fake because technically yes he didnt wear it when he was a ranger at the time but i thought of outside the box and thought it be sick to do. Here's a Pic of the front of a messier white liberty jersey (its a starter replica).

The crest is definitely smaller than the one on my blue replica, and even on most of the blue authentics I've seen. Makes me feel a little better about possibly buying one in the future for the right price. Also, I wouldn't call your jersey a "fake" just because Mess never wore it. Obviously it's a legit jersey and I love how that looks on the front and sleeves. 3-color lettering or 2-color?

Just an aside on the collar mention....I have Starter pros with 2 different collar designs..where the blue and red are swapped.....and why did Starter go bye-bye? Would have to check but figuring the incorrect versions will all be on the El Salvadors not the Berlins... :P

I did it all 3 color numbers captain c and the name (I didnt like how the name was 2 color so i went with the 3 color since originally the name was 3 color i believe before switching to 2). I also had a blue liberty ccm gaborik done too but i hate how it came out so im looking for another place where they can make the liberty kits. Yea the crest on teh front is smaller on all starters than the ccms (i do have an blue authentic starter as well).
