Customizing the Olympic jerseys...

The nameplate is what I'm mostly focused on here. Some others here picked it up as well.....have you guys found anywhere to customize them? Perhaps we could all go in on a jersey or two to cut up for name plates? lol

Let us know what they say. I have a red and white in 58 and want to get Crosby on white and Weber on red.

What material is used for the nameplates on the Team Canada jerseys?

I am also looking to customize a size 52 in white. Probably Crosby as well. Is there somewhere in the Toronto area that could do it? I have never customized a jersey before, so not sure about shipping to the US. Will customs charges be an issue?

How do you pay for them?

Kneecaps and fingers!

A credit card seemed to work fine for me.

Johnny, can you tell me what the process is with EPS? How do I go about sending them my jerseys.

Yea, what they said haha. What I do is e-mail Joshua and nag him until he gives me quotes. Then I print out the order form and send in some pictures of exactly what I want. Then I just ship it out and wait. The turn around time stinks, but they're the best I've dealt with.

Found out that Central Crests in Vancouver also can do the authentics if you want to stay in Canada. They are the official customizer for Hockey Canada. I also called Nike Canada and they referred me to them too. Pretty pricey...I think it was around $85 per jersey they told me, plus shipping there and back. How much is EPS charging?

I'm waiting to see if Central are willing to send just the fabric so I can do it locally, but unlikely. EPS also said they could ship just the nameplates, but won't guarantee colour match on the red if they don't do the whole jersey. Something about dye lots being potentially different.

I'd be interested in going in on cutting up a jersey, as I need 2 as well. Probably going with Crosby and Niedermayer (if it fits) or Perry.

P.S. Material is a polyester ripstop, same as jersey.

P.P.S. Central also mentioned they use the larger numbers, same as on-ice. The pictures I have seem to show the numbers stretching from just below the nameplate down to the 'mesh' part of the jersey?

Its very difficult to get authentic material for the nameplates, at least in Canada. You'll see from my earlier posts that the only retail source I have found is in Vancouver. Even the replica material from Nike is not available. Apparently, Nike just does not supply this material. EPS claims to have it, but I didn't want to ship across the border.

I was able to contact Nike Canada directly, and eventually found out some more details: Replica material is very hard to find because it is sourced off shore. I wound up cutting up a replica jersey, so if anyone needs nameplates I have them for $20+shipping. I'm just trying to recover the cost of the jersey.

As for the authentic, rip-stop material, Nike was able to provide me with 3 complete kits, just on a one-time basis. I ordered them last week, so I'll see how they turn out. Apparently, they are directly from the manufacturer (someone in Quebec) and are the exact same as the on-ice, so I'm counting myself lucky if they arrive as promised.

Yes I would love 2 as well......this seems like it is the hardest jersey to get right.....
