Meigray Grab Bags

Looking back at the old threads, there were a couple about the past Meigray grab bags. I think its a pretty cool idea so Im just wondering when, if anyone knows, the next grab bag is, and how often they happen a year.

Thanks!

The best bet will be to send them an email. They respond quickly.

I know there were a lot last year (Bruins, Flyers, Avs?, NYR?, Stamkos, Marty, Modano I & II)

Basically you pay their fee ($99 bucks or so plus shipping) and they have these packages that contain random jerseys. In those they usually insert a really nice grab like a game used stamkos or something. They then affix the shipping labels randomly to the packages and send them out....what you get is a crap shoot, but at the very least you more than likely get your money back in a jersey of some kind.

They hold an expo every year. Over the summer they had a "Stamkos" (top prize was a Stamkos gamer, 4 other NHL GU jerseys, all others were either blank RBK 6100 or EDGE jerseys) grab bag for $51 and a "Brodeur" (top prize was a Marty game, with 4 other NHL game worn jerseys, all others were GU practice) one for $99.

I did the Stamkos and was lucky enough to get an EDGE jersey.

Is this only done at the expo?

They did it a couple of times through their website.

If you want to look at pictures, I would recommend "liking" them on Facebook. Search "MeiGray".

If you get a Florida Panthers jersey. You lose!

Double n00b alert here. When is the expo or when do they announce the details? I would definitely make the drive down from the GTA after hearing stories from last year.

July. Last year was my first year and I really had a great time. The best part was the tent sale. Just don't get there for 9 am. I did that with my cousin and her husband. My cousin was a pain. The only reason why she went was because she wanted to go to the Cracker Barrel (IDK if there are any in CAN, but they have good coffee and is one of the "country/rural" style places). It would have been better to go there for Daneyko and the grab bag (I think was noon-1:30), then lunch (Cracker Barrel, ~20 minutes away), go to the Expo for two hours, then to Meigray Facility.

Also, save up some money for the tent sale!!! I left with 3 jerseys from the tent sale ($75) + grab bag ($51) + entry jersey ($25). I wish I could have bought more, but I bought my white Isles EDGE 2.0 draft jersey the week before (which was a steal)

I plan on walking out looking like I just robbed the place (which at those prices won't be far from the truth). I planned on making a whole day of it (not like I would make it home soon). I just wanted to know when they lay out the date for it so that I can book other stuff around it.

I spent too much money on jerseys in that week span, but I am not going to complain!

I think the date was July 17. It was from 9 am to 5ish pm. I am almost positvie they are always on Saturdays.

During the summer, that was the only day I woke up before 11 am (I woke up at 7 am and went to bed at 5 am...I was that excited for it. We left the house at 7:30am and got there 9:30).

EDIT: I also think that they allowed the "out-of-towners" to visit the Warehouse the day before.

Pffft...during the last expo, I went home and took eight jerseys out of my car. EIGHT. And I actually went there with two game-worn ones that I didn't go home with!

Yeah my uncle lives in Israel (think I've said this before) so I am visiting him again in the summer and plan on catching some early UEFA Champions League action while I'm there. So hopefully this doesn't fall in those dates. The deals sound great, visiting the warehouse early for being from "out of town" is also an added bonus. I'd also like to put some faces to names from these boards.

7:00 p.m. MeiGray Facility Closes.

Also

We are welcoming out-of-town visitors on Friday, July 16th between the hours of 1-4 PM, by appointment only. Please call us at 888-463-4472 as soon as possible if you intend to visit us in-person that day between the hours of 1-4. Unfortunately, we will not be able to make any exceptions this year.

It would be nice to meet some of you! I probably met some of you without even knowing! I was the guy in the Isles t-shirt and hat...if anyone remembers.

EDIT: I am not that familiar with the quote rules on this forum. Is it necessary that I post the facebook link?

Yeah this guy here was insane. I had a great time too and traded my entry jersey for another one. Bought a jersey from the sale, and Barry and co were nice enough to let me pay when my paycheck cleared that friday after the expo. Had a great time admiring everything, just don't go AT 9 am unless you want to hear Milt's stories all day. They are worth it though.

yup. biggest waste of money ever. That was my first grab bag and left such a sour taste in my mouth I doubt I'd do it again. POS is still sitting in the box it came in.

I'm sure the numerous Panthers jersey "winners" out there would say they did not get their money's worth.

insult to injury.

I bet they have a rack full of them still.

Yet a Vokoun job would be a bad idea I guess

seems like 90% of the jerseys from that Stamkos bag were Panthers jerseys. I got lucky and got a home red Caps Edge GI and sold it for double what I paid for the grab bag.
