mlaval
Hello, I got this Black Flyers Jersey from the 1999-2000 season with 2000 patch. Everything is fine about it except possibly the font of the "Vanbiesbrouck" on the back. See pictures: http://s973.photobucket.com/albums/ae220/mlaval6/Vanbiesbrouck%20Flyers/ It seems like it is the same font used on orange and white jerseys (the 'A' character is pretty distinctive) but I can't find if it was also used on black jerseys that year. I think I recall this font being used on blacks some other years... but I don't think it was used for the 99-00 season. Before I fix it, what do you guys think? Was this font used in 99-00? Thanks in advance!

mlaval
I might be picky on the details but this jersey is a Nike and the Flyers had CCMs for the 99-00. My Jersey is a CCM. Sorry I should have posted a picture where the entire jersey could be seen. Also I don't think the 'A' and 'S' match the ones on my jersey. The font of my Jersey is however used on the white and orange of that page. http://www.gameworn.org/beezer/indexphi.html Edited May 27, 2010 by mlaval
Brilliant!
I was merely comparing the fonts; not the jerseys themselves. What you have to remember though is that the shot I provided is a gamer and the letters are squished together a little to fit on the back better. The black one also has two layers of twill while the regular ones only used one layer. I think you're fine with the one you have.
mlaval
Ok sorry if I am bit slow at getting this. But so there is a difference between the two fonts: My jersey: http://s973.photobucket.com/albums/ae220/mlaval6/Vanbiesbrouck%20Flyers/?action=view¤t=FlyersBlack2000Back-1.jpg and this gamer: http://www.gameworn.org/beezer/98-99altb.jpg but that's because they need to fit the name better on the gamer. So say I would like it to be exactly like the one on ice, the font used for the gamer should also be available say at IJ for instance. Am I right? Thanks for your time! Your jersey has the font that a lot of other black replica's and authentics from that time have. The font used by the Flyers during that time used relatively thin white squared letters on an orange background. The font on your jersey is similar to what they would put on a white home or an orange away jersey. This was common during that time. I currently have a 2001-2002 Koho authentic with LeClair in the same font. Eventually I will probably get it changed. I have seen icejerseys version of the lettering for the black jerseys and it comes close. I have a black 2007-2008 Hatcher gameworn jersey from Meigray and the icejerseys nameplate is close but not dead on. I am yet to find a place that can duplicate the black jersey nameplates perfectly.
