St. Patrick
I was wondering which one of these two patches is most accurate to what they wore on the ice. If neither one of these is close, please guide me in the direction of one that is. Thanks for the help. http://cgi.ebay.com/COLORADO-AVALANCHE-10TH-ANNIVERSARY-JERSEY-PATCH-2005_W0QQitemZ370334194063QQcmdZViewItemQQptZU_Hockey_Fan_Shop?hash=item5639a3598f#ht_2035wt_939 or http://cgi.ebay.com/NHL-COLORADO-AVALANCHE-10TH-ANNIVERSARY-PATCH_W0QQitemZ320475090364QQcmdZViewItemQQptZU_Hockey_Fan_Shop?hash=item4a9dcdcdbc#ht_500wt_956 I noticed the second one has a slight edge to it. Sorry, I meant to put this in the patch thread.
tb426
Both of them are remakes. The seller itself is a big giveaway.
JeffB
I know the second one is a remake from the raised edge around it, and know the first seller does sell remakes, but without a border on the first patch, what identifies it as a remake? madflava
Where would find original Avs 10th anniversary patches? I have a Colorado third that I've been meaning to put this patch on. I found this other version on Ebay and the blue is different and there is no border around the patch. http://cgi.ebay.com/2005-COLORADO-AVALANCHE-10TH-ANNIVERSARY-JERSEY-PATCH_W0QQitemZ190373224051QQcmdZViewItemQQptZU_Hockey_Fan_Shop?hash=item2c5320de73 Also is this the original patch:

I have an original one that I bought from an authorized dealer, and the blue stitching of the "wave" of the first link of the eBay auction is a bit too much. It is supposed to be thinner... The link posted by madflava is probably closest. I would say 99% accurate..
Burnaby Joe Sakic
Here are a few images off of gamers and GIs from my collection to compare. Liles '05-'06 dark gamer '05-'06 blank alternate game issue '05'-'06 blank white game issue that I had made into a Rob Blake '05'-'06 Brunette alternate gamer Spy's right with the raised edge. Stay away from those. They're flimsy and aren't able to be ironed on. eBay seller Patch Collection also uses a stock image on the site and then sends patches with raised edges to you. I haven't done a ton of research to figure out which reproductions are best, I just buy the National Emblems in the package with the hard backing whenever I need one. Stick with Murf and Pat. They carry the National Emblem version that we all know is legit. http://murfandpat.com/c-03.htm And if you guys want me to take more detailed pictures just let me know. I'd be happy to take them and post them up.

madflava
Yeah, I got suckered into one of those reproduction patches. Still need to leave feedback but I am ordering one from Murf and Pat. I should have known better.
Burnaby Joe Sakic
Burnaby, that would be great if you could. I'll do it sometime soon. Maybe this weekend. And I have a few replica patches that I kept from Patch Collection to always remind me to spend a little extra from legit sellers or from people offering National Emblem versions of the patch. I'll post pics of both the legit and the reproductions and we can compare them in more detail.
Burnaby Joe Sakic
Hey guys...I was able to take a few pics tonight that will help us out with this thread. Here are some close up, straight on shots. Liles Gamer Brunette Gamer The only reason it looks like they have a raised edge is because they're sewn onto the jerseys. These patches don't have raised edges on them. Here is a reproduction from Patch Collection on eBay. Side by side, authentic on the left, reproduction on the right. Three of the biggest differences, not including the raised edge that we already discussed: 1. How the word "Colorado" is placed on the top of the patch. 2. Thickness and clean look of the burgundy on the "X" 3. Almost looks like a different font on the "1995" on the bottom left side of the patch. Here is the packaging you should be looking for, I've also seen them on a cardboard card from National Emblem. Either, as long as they are from NE, is fine. JeffB started a thread here on how to take off the plastic backing on the NE patches. Just in case you haven't seen it it's right here: http://forums.icejerseys.com/index.php?showtopic=1483 He also started a thread on Jersey Central that led to some other ways to get the backing off as well. It's here: http://www.jerseycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=35 Overall, the National Emblem version, which was also used on the gamers, just looks plain cleaner. When you see them in person it's actually pretty easy to tell the difference between the two. Hope that helps!

St. Patrick
After all this time, I finally scored an authentic Av's 10th anniversary patch. Wanted to say thanks to Burnaby and the others for their help. You guys rock. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190407862472&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_500wt_1154
