Brass97
Clint Malarchuk for Buffalo! Sans blood, of course.
attila
Peter Sidorkiewicz for Ottawa. C'mon, 4.43 GPG and still made it to the All-Star game. He was just that good!
PensJerseys
If you are doing Barrasso: http://cgi.ebay.com/BARRASSO-PITTSBURGH-PE...id=p3286.c0.m14 Might be the only style you will be able to find.
greyraven8
Irbe is one of my favourites; but I can only picture him in a San Jose or Latvia jersey. I'd go with him in the sharks jersey myself. I have a blank goalie cut jersey that is very close to the style of the old blues jersey (60's - 80's). I have an old blues crest I'm going to sew on and try to customize it with Liut's name and number.
Nathan
Calgary needs to be Levente Szuper. Kiprusoff is the latest in line of northern European goalies. Szuper? First and only Hungarian to make an NHL roster!
Hazzard
#1 is on the way a white Phoenix Burke jersey, I'm ahead of schedule Great choice!
St. Patrick
As I am winding down on the easy to obtain Osgood jerseys (I will play the wait and see approach on the rest), I am looking towards my next project, I will be looking to get a jersey from every NHL team and customize it with that team's most memorable goalie (pretty much since 1995 as those jerseys are easier to obtain). Here is my list of the "goalie for each team. If you feel I am misled please post your rebuttal I would love to read it.Anaheim Ducks- Giguere (2 cup finals I think that is enough) Atlanta Thrashers- Lehtonen Boston Bruins- Lord Byron Dafoe Buffalo Sabres- Hasek, but I really like Miller Calgary Flames- Kipper Carolina Hurricanes- Irbe (I welcome disputes on this one) Chicago Blackhawks- Thibault (although the great Steve Passmore is tempting) Colorado Avalanche- Roy Columbus Bluejackets- Denis (this is tough it could change to Mason depending on this upcoming season) Dallas Stars- Belfour Detroit Red Wings- Osgood Edmonton Oilers- Will probably have to go vintage and go Fuhr Florida Panthers- Beezer LA Kings- Potvin Minnesota Wild- Roloson Montreal Canadiens- Theodore Nashville Predators- Vokoun New Jersey Devils- Brodeur New York Islanders- Salo (I already have an Osgood ) New York Rangers- Richter or Lundqvist Ottawa Senators- Lalime Philadelphia Flyers- Hextall Phoenix Coyotes- Khabibulin Pittsburgh Penguins- Barrasso St. Louis Blues- Turek San Jose Sharks- Nabokov or Shields Tampa Bay Lightning- Puppa Toronto Maple Leafs- Cujo Vancouver Canucks- McClean Washington Capitals- Kolzig Really let me know what you think I would chose Backstrom over Rolosen. HockeyMusic
Well i'm a goalie myself as well as a goalie collector, and had to add my two cents (reasoning in parentheses) Anaheim Ducks- Giguere (2 cup finals + 1 win) Atlanta Thrashers- Lehtonen (best goalie ever for team, close second, pavelec) Boston Bruins- Thomas (vezina winner) Buffalo Sabres- Hasek (no explanation needed) Calgary Flames- Kiprusoff (cup final in 2004) Carolina Hurricanes- Ward (cup win + MVP) Chicago Blackhawks- Thibault (couldn't find anyone better, leighton maybe???) Colorado Avalanche- Roy (my personal fave) Columbus Bluejackets- Mason (Calder winner + Vezina finalist plus backstopped first ever playoff berth) Dallas Stars- Belfour (not Turco - no cups) Detroit Red Wings- Osgood (osgood played like a HOFer here, but elsewhere he played like the goalies in my mens league) Edmonton Oilers- Cujo (had his best playoff performances here, and who could forget those Dallas-Edmonton series, great hockey! - close second, Roloson for 2006 finals app) Florida Panthers- Vanbiesbrouck (finals appearance) LA Kings- Fukufuji (first japanese born player in the NHL) Minnesota Wild- Backstrom (best goaltender in franchise history) Montreal Canadiens- Theodore (for the MVP season, but if you decide to go for leighton in Chicago, then maybe you can put Thibault here as he was the key player in the Roy trade) Nashville Predators- Vokoun (starter for most of the team's history) New Jersey Devils- Brodeur (duh!) New York Islanders- Healy (1993 vs Penguins, last time they won a playoff series and lost to Habs in semis) New York Rangers- Richter (cup win) Ottawa Senators- Tugnutt (best time of his career, 1.79 GAA!!!) Philadelphia Flyers- Hextall (most memorable flyers goalie in the modern era) Phoenix Coyotes- Burke (had his best seasons here) Pittsburgh Penguins- Fleury (cup win) St. Louis Blues- Turek (st. louis hasn't had that many good goalies play for them, so I'll agree on this one for that one stellar season and the fact I used Cujo for Edmonton) San Jose Sharks- Nabokov (best goalie the team's ever had, close second, Irbe for making the team relevant during the expansion years and almost making it to within a goal post of the 1994 eastern conference final) Tampa Bay Lightning- Khabibulin (cup win) (or if you wanna put Khabibulin on the Jets, maybe Manon Rheaume can go here, first female NHL goalie) Toronto Maple Leafs- Potvin (see - 1993 and 1994 playoffs) Vancouver Canucks- MacLean (cup final app and he's an icon in Vancouver Washington Capitals- Kolzig (for obvious reasons, among them the Vezina trophy and cup final app......for a laugh here though I have to mention Jim Carey hahaha) Plus if you'd like to delve into defunct teams Winnipeg Jets - Bob Essensa (starter for most of the 90s, until Khabibulin) Quebec Nordiques - Fiset (if you don't like Tugnutt for ottawa, then he belongs here.....70 saves vs Bruins in greatest goaltending performance ever) Hartford Whalers - Mike Liut (one of the more notable whalers goalies, but if burke is not your choice for phoenix he belongs here) Minnesota North Stars - Jon Casey (cup final in 1991 after squeaking into playoffs) Enjoy, hope you like my suggestions Edited November 13, 2009 by HockeyMusic
ozfan30
Thanks for the suggestions, I am keeping my eyes open, but the progress is a bit slow. I am more inclined to get already customized jerseys off the bay, as customization is getting too expensive for me.
